Facts
Edinburgh is a part of Midlotian. Edinburgh lays on the east cost of central belt, along the firth of forth. Edinburgh have been the capital of Scotland since 1437. Edinburgs is scotlands cultural, administrative and financial centre. Edinburgh is the second largest city after Glasgow. Edinburgh became a city in 1329.
 Edinburgh is the home of the Scottish Pariliament for first time in 300 years. In Edinburgh its 500 000 inhabitants.


Famous places
Edinburgh university was founded in 1583. Edinburgh university is world famous, expecially for its medical studies.
Edinburgh Castle is an old fort on Castle Rock. Castle Rock has been used by different military forces since prehistory  Edinburgh castles location was the predicate expression of Edinburgh's location.



Edinburgh offers sightseeing, historic building to explore, galleries, museum, shopping, restaurants, bistros, wine bars, pubs, and cafes.
The city attracts about 1 million visitors a year!

One famous person in Scotland, Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle was born 1 April 1961 in Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland.
She became known for her appearance in the TV show Britain's Got Talent almost over the night, she came in 2nd place after the dance group Diversity, but that she did not win was very surprising for most people.
Born when her mother was 47, Boyle was briefly deprived of oxygen during the difficult birth and was later diagnosed as having learning difficulties.Boyle says she was nicknamed "Susie Simple" at school and bullied.
Susan has never been kissed neither been married, instead she dedicated herself for her mother until she died in 2007.
She still lives in the family home with her 10 year old cat, Pebbles.
She is active as a volunteer at her church, visiting elderly members of the congregation in their homes.
